    Yay for Yog!

    We’ve been needing a place like this in Hampden, but Mt. Washington is close enough, I suppose.

    I’ll get to the actual froyo in a minute, but you know those places that you walk into on a Friday night right before they’re about to close and you know they are just hating you the whole time and wanting you to GTFO? This is not Yog! The ladies here are sooooo sweet. They welcomed us in excitedly, even though we probably slowed down their closing process. Bonus points for this, even if the yogurt wasn’t good….but..IT IS AWESOME.

    I will eat basically anything frozen and cold, but my boyfriend is typically not a fan of ‘flavored air.’ As the ladies at Yog ushered us to try each flavor (Taro! Salted Caramel! Peanut Butter! Nutella!) he loaded up his cup more and more. This stuff is delicious. They’ve also got the usual flavors (Tart, Chocolate) and I’m assuming they change them up regularly.

    The topic you’d expect are there (mochi, gummies, berries, sprinkles) but they’ve also got homemade toppings- like raw cookie dough (no egg), homemade heath bar toffee, and peanut butter cups. You could really taste the difference and I was in heaven.

    I can’t wait to go back. They also have a large crepes menu and they are the first place I’ve seen around town in awhile that sells green smoothies! I’m not sure how effective I would be at convincing myself to down frozen spinach when there is homemade raw cookie dough a few inches away, but I’ll give it a try.

    I’ll update my review when I try their other offerings.

    P.S. Yog– You should get a punch-card system going. Maybe buy 9 yogurts, get the 10th free or something? That’s what my old frozen yogurt place (that I am now abandoning for Yog) does and it is great!

    I’m so happy my husband and I found this place. It’s been open for quite some time now (about a year, I’d say) and recently I saw a “CREPE” sign on the window. That teased the French in me. I had to try the place! So yesterday, we went there and ohhhh why didn’t I check out this place before? Savory crepes, sweet crepes, frozen yoghurt and homemade toppings! We had a savory crepe and a sweet crepe (Nutella, banana, almonds) and they were both oh so delicious!!! And compared to the Crepe place in Mount Washington, it’s much cheaper, just as delicious, and the owner is so sweet! We were too full to try the frozen yoghurt but boy did they look delicious too! And I loved the fact that most had little symbols to indicate which one is Kosher. And homemade toppings? Hello! Homemade brownies, homemade peppermint patties (that’s right!), homemade peanut butter cups. Can’t wait for our next visit for me to try the rest of the deliciousness. Welcome to the neighborhood!

    The yogurt is superb, the homemade peppermint patties and homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter cups are sinfully delicious. The crepes are excellent and Katie the owner has a great personality and charm with her customers. My  labs Sadie  & Bailey  love the yogurt. Robin :-)

    Really nice place, and happily somewhat convenient. They have several flavors of tart yogurt, including taro (which I adore).

    All their yogurt is non-fat, which gives the finished product a slightly more icy and transparent look and feel, but in a good way. It’s still creamy and delish.

    I wish they had more seating, and that they had topping spoons with longer handles. When I was there a few days ago, several of the spoons were inside their toppings, and I’m not a fan of someone else’s dirty fingers touching serving ware that’s now touching my food. :)

    Otherwise, good to have a new tart yogurt shop in Baltimore! Will definitely be back.

    Yog just opened across the street from my house and I have to say I’m OVERJOYED. There are all kinds of interesting flavors to try (and tons of toppings, too). Yum YUM YUM. But the best thing about Yog is that it’s lower calorie than most fro-yo places I’ve been to. It’s delish and the kind of treat you can eat without feeling all kinds of guilty afterwards. I’ve sent my husband over almost nightly since they’ve opened. I’ll be a long time customer at Yog!
